The Mission Outreach Board works to educate and encourage the congregation to join in hands-on mission outreach activities, to address issues of social and economic justice, and to respond to the spiritual and physical needs of humankind, both in our local community and throughout the world.

The Mission Outreach Board is responsible for:

• Increasing the congregation’s awareness of mission outreach activities and of issues of social and economic justice.
• Providing and coordinating opportunities for members of GCC to participate and make meaningful contributions in hands-on mission projects.
• Developing, coordinating and monitoring the benevolent giving of the church.

The Glenview Community church dedicates 10% of our yearly pledges to our missions outreach, or benevolent giving program. This money is used to fund UCC mission efforts as well as local hunger, housing, training, healthcare and justice activities. Board members get to know the operations and the needs of each organization we support. This information is used to develop a budget for giving in the following fiscal year.

GCC is also a member of the Chicago Community Trust, an organization which manages endowment funds and qualifies organizations and programs around the Chicago area to receive funding by its members.
